Nigel Robson began his singing career in Monteverdi’s Orfeo at English National Opera in the production with David Freeman and John-Eliot Gardiner after some notable small roles at Gyndebourne.  As a child Nigel had discovered a passion for Bach that moved him beyond the brass bands which had been part of his childhood upbringing. Later at York University he was a co-founder of the Landini Consort early music group.
